CV

Studying the History of Art at Leicester University gave her a lifelong interest in art. When she retired early from a career in teaching she took a year long watercolour course followed by an oils and acrylics course the subsequent year.

She is inspired by light and reflections. As a sailor she spends many hours watching waves and is fascinated by the challenge of capturing the ever moving sea on canvas. She prefers to work outside and spends much time sketching and painting on the beach or clifftop and tries to retain this freshness in any studio work. She loves the light over the sea and the amazing colours and shapes of clouds and attempts to express the emotions they arouse .

She has exhibited and sold work from;
Palace Arts Gallery Redcar
The Ryedale Folk Museum Hutton Le Hole
Pannett Park Art Gallery Whitby
The Danby Moors Centre
Trattles and Geall, Whtiby
Staithes Festival
Pickering Art Fair
Sneaton Castle Art Festival
Eskvale Group Exhibitions Sandsend
Sleights Village Hall
RAW Family Designs, Robin Hood's Bay

Her work will be exhibited in the Whitby Art Society Seasons Exhibition at the Pannett Art Gallery, Whitby in April, and can currently be seen at the Silver Street Gallery Whitby, The Wave Gallery Robin Hood's Bay.
